One of the easiest ways to save a little cash and make your beauty routine more natural at the same time is to make your own shaving cream. This recipe is very simple, takes only a few minutes to whip up, and leaves you with a close shave and soft, smooth legs. This doesn’t whip up into a big foamy lather, but instead a thick, supple liquid that foams as you rub it over your legs, leaving you with a closer shave. The vitamin E oil leaves your legs silky soft, and the aloe vera gel moisturizes. Don’t skimp on the lavender essential oil–this soothes irritation and really makes your skin glow!
Shaving Cream
1/4 cup 100% Aloe Vera Gel
1/4 cup liquid Castile soap
2 tbsp Almond Oil (can substitute melted coconut oil or shea butter if you have that on hand)
1 tbsp Vitamin E oil
10 drops Lavender essential oil
1. Mix together all of the ingredients in a glass jar or bottle. Stir or shake well to combine.
It really is THAT simple! One of the other benefits that I have found from using this recipe is that my hair on my legs tends to grow back finer and slower, so that I don’t have to shave as often. Win! Men can use this recipe too, though I would increase the amount of Vitamin E oil, to protect their skin more. I’d also reduce the lavender, adding in frankincense oil, for a little more masculine smell.
Last, while I link to Amazon here in the recipe, check your local stores for some of these ingredients. I link them here for those who do not have a lot of stores near them. I know the Dr Bronner’s castile soap is only $9.99 in my local Kroger store–so check yours too!
Name Brand Shaving Gel: $3.99

I’m definitely trying this! I’ve been looking for a natural alternative for shaving cream!
